The Department of Physics at Arputha College of Arts and Science was established in the year 2004 with the vision of fostering scientific knowledge, analytical thinking, and research aptitude among rural students. Since its inception, the department has been dedicated to providing quality education in Physics and nurturing students to understand the fundamental principles governing nature and the universe. The Undergraduate Programme received Permanent Affiliation from the University in the year 2020.

The curriculum prescribed by Bharathidasan University includes Classical Mechanics, Electricity and Magnetism, Optics, Electronics, Quantum Physics, Nuclear Physics, Solid State Physics, Mathematical Physics, and Computational Methods.
